Please note that although most of the bead shapes appear across the Early Anglo-Saxon period as defined by Guido as between 400-700AD, some may not have appeared in the very earliest portion of the time listed, but by AD700 most of the bead types will have been in existence somewhere in A-S England.
There are beads now in collections that appeared after Margaret Guido began her wonderful book which is one of the cornerstones of our research, they may be found in the Brugman text or by searching online for collections at various museums around the country.
The continental Migration era beads are often more complex and colourful than the A-S beads, although they are from the same general time period.
