Newly released images of the 'kingpiece' excavated on Lindisfarne have caused quite a stir! The piece been reproduced in cobalt blue glass with white trailed overlay and raised dotted decoration.
What's a kingpiece without his gaming pieces? Conjectural pieces with the same four bands of white glass, trailed and combed will fit nicely on the board. Plain cobalt blue ones are also available to create a full tafl set.
The kingpiece measures approximately 20x20mm but will vary slightly as they are made individually and is available in its own listing, and in accordance with best beadmaking practice, each piece is fully annealed.
The white and blue trailed gaming pieces are slightly smaller, approximately 15mm w x 18mm h. There is no existing gaming piece to go with the kingpiece, these are based on a similar find in Lincolnshire.
